NORCE is a Norwegian research institute with about 1000 employees and multi nationalities. At different locations in Norway it covers six research areas: Energy, Health, Climate, Environment, Social Sciences, and Technology. NORCE closely cooperates with Norwegian universities.

The Energy Systems of NORCE Energy focusses on energy generation, efficiency improvement, and systems integration across different energy vectors. The group has been involved in managing and implementing projects funded regionally, nationally, and internationally, ranging from theoretical and modelling studies over test rigs, to prototype development, pilot installation and operation. Eigersund Næring og Havn KF (Eigersund Industry and Port) is an organization created and owned by the municipality of Eigersund, with the sole purpose to ensure that the municipality of Eigersund runs a competitive, sustainable and coordinated industrial development. Tourism is also defined as an industry, and part of our responsibility.  The port authority is part of ENH and responsible for the operation and development of Egersund harbour (one of Norway’s largest and most important fishing harbours).

Aurelia Turbines develops, manufactures and commercialises efficient small gas turbines, especially for small-scale process and SME industry.

Aurelia Turbines is the first company in the world to utilise IRG2-process in its gas turbines. IRG2 stands for “intercooled and recuperated, generator on both shafts”. The technology is based on the high speed technology and was developed in Lappeenranta University of Technology in Finland.

High-efficient Aurelia® A400 kW turbines allow flexible small scale combined heat and power generation. Different kind of renewable, synthetic and conventional gases and liquids can be used as fuel. High efficiency and choice of fuels guarantee low emissions.

The Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) is the largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences in Switzerland. Scientists perform world-class research in three main subject areas: Matter and Material; Energy and the Environment; and Human Health. By conducting fundamental and applied research, long-term solutions for major challenges facing society, industry and science are developed.

Research in the Energy and Environment domain focuses on a) development of technologies supporting the transition towards a sustainable energy system (e.g., batteries, power-to-gas installations, etc.) and b) the techno-economic and environmental assessment of those technologies.

The University of Genoa (UNIGE) participates to this project with the Department of Mechanical, Energy, Management and Transportation Engineering (DIME). The DIME hosts the Fuel Cell Systems University Technology Centre of Rolls-Royce and the Fincantieri joint laboratory for activities related to fuel cells. The activities planned for this project will be carried out by the Thermochemical Power Group (TPG), that is composed of mechanical and chemical engineers, to carry out theoretical and experimental research in the field of advanced energy systems: distributed generation, smart polygeneration grids, hydrogen, energy storage, fuel cells, hybrid systems, microturbines, dynamics, thermoeconomics, turbomachinery, optimization, etc.

Energy Innovation is running a Centre for training, certification, education, business development, innovation and R&D in the field of onshore and offshore wind and Green Tech. Energy Innovation offers training according to the Global Wind Organization (GWO) standards ISO29990 and Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) for rescue services, industry, construction, and heavy equipment.  

We cooperate closely with NORCE (Norwegian Research Institute AS) and other Norwegian and foreign research institutes and Universities.

Dalane Energi AS is a group consisting of Dalane Kraft AS, Enida AS and Dalane Energisalg AS.

Dalane Kraft AS is responsible for hydropower production, Dalane Energisalg AS is responsible for selling electrical energy to the public, while Enida AS operates and maintains the entire electrical network in the four Dalane municipalities in South-West Norway.

RES-T was founded in 2019. The founders have decades of experience in the entire wind energy sector (project planning, technology development, operation, maintenance, training) as well as in the establishment and management of companies. The reason for the new company is a product development based on increasing market demand for decentralized energy systems. The developed wind turbine is to be offered via the new company for direct marketing of the generated electricity to small and medium-sized private and commercial consumers. The turbine has several unique selling points which, together with the knowledge to ensure reliable operation of turbines, result in significantly lower energy costs than the competitors.

Prima Protein was established in 2017. Construction of the factory, located on Eigerøy, started in February 2018 and was completed in February 2019. We received our first delivery of pelagic fish and started production on the 19th of February the same year.

The Environmental Research Institute (ERI) is internationally recognised for distinctive and innovative environmental science. Within ERI, the Renewable Energy research team exploit a blend of in-situ monitoring, environmental survey, experimental, modelling and remote-sensing approaches to gain new insights into the environmental impacts surrounding renewable-energy technologies, focussing on ecosystem functions and anthropogenic impacts. As well as developing and disseminating environmental knowledge, ERI promotes understanding of closely-coupled social and economic issues relating to development in rural, coastal and island regions exploring effects on, and interrelationships between, local and regional stakeholders (residents, businesses, employees, tourists, recreational users, public) and connections with local industries.

The Technical University of Crete (TUC) was established in 1977 and admitted students for the first time in 1984. The school of Production Engineering & Management (PEM), which is in charge of the work to be undertaken within ROBINSON, is the largest academic unit in Greece for production engineering and management studies. TUC team puts a high priority on research activities focused on energy, environmental & water systems management, process & system engineering, industrial ICT technologies and decision management. The research activities are characterized by the implementation of an interdisciplinary approach, which is achieved by coordinating and participating research projects.
